I’d researched this historical figure for over 20 years because I always found her so fascinating. Historical women figures are often difficult to research because so much of history focuses on men. The only reason we know this much about Anna Magdalena Bach is because she married Johann Sebastian Bach.
I wrote and performed this monologue as my gift to myself for my 50th birthday, including singing and playing keyboards. I used my imagination to fill in what she might have thought and felt about the time frame she lived in.
